Heading down to Panama City for a few nights after visiting San Jose Costa Rica in late August. This will be my second trip to Panama City but the first time was just after they opened up post-Covid so my knowledge is limited.

That trip I stayed at the Hotel El Panama and had a great stay. Great pool, good breakfast and very nice room. A very short walk to Don Julios. It was completely guest friendly then but that might have been do to the fact there were very few guests at that time and little staffing at the front desk late at night. I have tried to contact them via email to find out their current policy on unregistered guests but have not gotten a response yet.

I did most of my "partying" at Don Julios (old Habanos) and at the little bar / restaurant around the corner. I would like to stay in the same area.

I have searched here and ISG and can't find any definitive answers on guest friendly hotels. I would be amenable paying a small fee for a guest if necessary (maybe $20 or $30).

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Selina Hostel. The place has a rooftop pool and 2 bars. Open to public. I stayed at hostel in private room.it was too loud for me. But I would party there every night! There is a strip club 100 meters down the hill too!

I’m staying at the Hotel AC by Marriott right now. It is in a great location, less than a 5 minute walk to Habanos/Don Julios. It’s so close the girls don’t even mind the walk back to your hotel, so that tells you something. It’s a nice hotel, 22 dollar guest fee.

Stayed at the W Hotel. Brought chicas in at all times of the day and night. Went to Don Julios every night and the short taxi ride back. One night the taxi driver took me to GOLDFINGERS and we were in a shouting match but he finally took me Don Julios. When you leave Don Julios it is best to call a taxi and when he arrives then walk out of the bar. One night I walked out and a lot of riff raff harassing you. I don't like these people putting there hands on me. If I return I plan to stay at the J W Marriott and there are chicas at the casino connected to the hotel.

I didn’t think it was too bad, just a couple of guys trying to get you to buy flowers for your “dates” or trying to sell a pack of cigarettes. It was kind of like the guys selling Cuban cigars and Rolex watches bin front of the Del Rey when it was busy. Plus with all the people in Habanos (it is an open air bar for those who have never been) and all the girls hanging around outside there is quite a large crowd there that can see everything going on when you leave.

It is not as packed as it was pre covid of course but it’s starting to come back. Last night my buddy and I estimated there were probably 50-60 girls in the bar and out around the front at about 10 o’clock and about 10 guys. Also, there were a lot of girls hanging out on the patios of the restaurants around the corner. Habanos has a cover charge for the girls, plus they have removed some of the tables and seats, which I guess is a carryover from the covid restrictions, so there are fewer girls actually in the club itself.
Almost every girl I talked with was from Colombia, so the overall quality was pretty good. I was in San Jose a couple of months ago and the quantity/quality in Panama is significantly higher. Price is higher as well unfortunately but that has always been the case in Panama, 150 was the going rate I usually settled on.

A lot of the big hotels (such as the Marriott across the street) are still closed, so that has to be limiting the amount of tourists coming down which in turn is probably limiting everything else as well.
With no need to get a covid test to return to the US now, I expect the numbers (hopefully) are going to start to pick up more and more.

Overall it has been a good trip, glad I came.

Never liked mongering in a place where most if not all of the talent is imported. Women who travel to foreign countries to sell it are generally too professional & businesslike. Why not fly 1 hr. further south to where the Colombianas came from, where the going rate is $50, 1/3 the price of pty. Less than that if you wanna go the casa or streetwalker route. And, generally a lot fewer rules/restrictions.

Yes I can agree with that being my last trip was a first time MDE trip. However I am extremely worried about being drugged and one of the guys on the on the trip was drugged. He has lived in MDE for years and doesn't remember how she gave it to him. Certainly he is very careful but it still happened. In Panama last Labor Day I had very good service from Colombianas , one local chica that I picked up at the Casino across from Don Julios and the last night a Cubana who was awesome

I understand that well, I was in Medellin for a week and I loved it. However, I used to live in Panama for a few years while I was growing up and for some reason I’ve always liked coming back and seeing the city again and remembering things. Kind of weird especially at my age.

Would avoid Panamá until the protests are over, which may not be soon.

People walking on the main highway to get to the airport

it's a long damn walk from Cangrejo to the airport. Hope they left 12 hours before their flight.

I'm not going down until the end of August. Hopefully things will have slowed down, protest-wise by then. If not I'll just spend the whole 10 days in San Jose.
