Greetings Gents, i'm taking my first solo trip to CR March 24, staying for a week. I went a couple of years ago with my then wife. I'm booked at the Barcelo, San Jose which is a great hotel we stayed in previously. A couple of questions - does anyone know if the Barcelo has a problem with guests? Where's the best place to start with finding ******* to come to my hotel? Should I just stay in San Jose for the week or maybe go to Jaco for a few days? All ideas welcome. |

I think it charges high chica fee $35 or more each occurrence. It is not in gulch area. I stayed there a couple times in mid 2000 before I started to monger there. Is a nice hotel just not a monger hotel. Have you considered Castillo/Amistad/SL/Taormina? |

I was charged $65 for a chica fee and I told the guy I would never stay there again and he didn't care. If not for chica fee I would stay there every trip. |

For a small fee you can use the amenities during the day at Barcelo. For mongering, I would stay at one of the usual places. |
