Post subject:  Jaco with family. Short term hotels?

Heading to Jaco for vacation with fam, 2/16-2/24
Hoping to escape the Marriott condo by marina and head over
to cocal. Are there any short term hotels to bring the ladies close by?
I like the idea of the hotel taking the girls Id before we head for our fun
So she will be less likely to drug me or steal my phone or have her boyfriend steal
my money. I know I’m paranoid.
Does anyone know if you can get a HE at the strip Club.
I’m hoping to get HE massage during the day, hit the strip club at night.
Try out one of the Chicas at cocel.

You can get full blown sex at the strip clubs if you want to pay the money.

It was a man trip I had planned with my sons.
We have a condo at the mariott ocean resort los Sueños in Herradura.
Seems like a family friendly hotel.
Hoping for some time to get to know the locals

I could see it with just the wife, but with the K*ds, no deal. Try to talk wifie into a future fishing trip by yourself.

How about we keep our opinions of each other to ourselves and just stick to what is being asked.
Short term hotels? Anyone but the idiots already responding please.

You can check Cadillac Rock. But they have no security (no one is going to take the girl's ID) based on old threads here. You are then at risk. If she robs you (takes wallet or phone) then she's gone as soon as she hits the door.

Cadillac Rock will serve your purpose just fine. Be sure and take a taxi from Cocal.
Don't pay any attention to the judgement.

I took everyone's advice and after hearing the explanations from everyone I was able to get a 3 night reservation at the hotel Mango Mar. Then I have another 3 nights at Hotel Ibiza. These are the hotels that everyone says will allow the ticas and take their ids so that it will reduce the risk of getting robbed or taken advantage of.
I will play it very safe and Park at the hotel, walk over to the cocel, select a tica and then take a cab back to the hotel.
After we are done I assume I need to get her back to the cocel or do you pay for them to get home?
Could someone give me advice on this? I am not sure I read anything about this in the forums.

Mango Mar is my go-to hotel in Jaco. It is only about 20 feet farther then some of the parking lot rooms at Cocal. Noise level is much lower. You can actually get some sleep there. Chicas will have no problem walking there. No taxi needed either way.

I haven’t stayed at Hotel Ibiza. Given its location it should be an easy walk over to Cocal. But its far enough Chicas won’t walk it in heels so you will need a taxi back from Cocal. There are always taxis at the front desk of Cocal.

When they are leaving, I typically will give them 1 or 2 mil colones taxi money. There won’t be taxis parked at a small hotel. They will leave your room and I’m sure call a taxi driver they know who will come for them. You don’t need to deal with it past giving them a couple mil colones and saying buenas noches at the door. In fact I would recommend you leave them at your hotel room door. The driver they know could very well be a boyfriend. No good can come from any interaction there.

Do these hotels have a safe in the closet that you can lock up your money, passport copy, phone etc?

So the girls will go to front desk and get their id back without you being there ?

Mango Mar has a safe. Don't know about Hotel Ibiza. The Hotel Ibiza website lists each room as having Caja de seguridad - secure box or safe.

At Mango Mar there is a security guard that sits in a chair at the entrance from the parking lot that checks ID after the office closes at 5pm. You don't need to go back with her when she leaves. Never brought any chicas before 5pm so don't know how it is handled by the office.

I’ve never needed to go back to security with the chica at any hotel I’ve stayed at in CR. If a hotel has a different policy, I expect they will tell you that you need to come back with her when they are checking her in.
