Hello Gents,

Been lurking, reading for awhile and it’s time to break the silence. Finally made up my mind to just do it and booked my first CR trip. Many thanks to members of this board, both past and present, the wealth of knowledge from you guys is just incredible. I have learned so much to be able book this trip and the scene in general. I am sure many others have benefited over the years from your willingness to share and it is much appreciated!

Bit about me; 48 years old and have only 1 trip/experience under my belt. I went all-in about year ago and did 3 weeks in Thailand solo, 1 week in Bangkok and 2 weeks Koh Samui. First time being a foreigner lost in a foreign land, not being experienced in the ways and going solo, wish I had done more than I did.

Staying at Castillo Jan 18 - 22. Putting out the call to all you veterans and local retirees that still take pity on us newbies. I would appreciate a fellow like mind gentleman to wing up, walking tour, MP, clubs, ect… if any of you still do that. Everyone's time is valuable so beers and samiches would be on me of course.

On another note, my Spanish is mucho no good-o. In the event I am not able to link up with some fellow CRT’s, if anyone has contacts they can share of favorites, english speakers or tolerant of non-Spanish speakers would be appreciated also.

More be figured out as trip approaches I am sure, so thanks again for all the tips, trip reports and advice already shared.

How was your trip?
Did you post a trip report?

You should!

I have not posted a report yet, so thanks for the nudge. I am a master of procrastination but it has been on my mind. Paying it forward is the best way to show appreciation to all those that have contributed to the board. I have enjoyed and learned from reading all the reports others have taken the time to post their experiences. Thanks and hopefully I can add a bit myself
