Going to Sportsman's Lodge Labor Day weekend 2018 How rainy do you guys think it will be.
I read the other posts about the weather. Sound like a downpour in the afternoon.

I did not know if the streets would flood a foot deep with water or not. I have seen how deep
they make the gutters in the city to handle the rain,

I say cloudy with a chance of meat balls.....or maybe sausages.

They forcast worse than in the states so don't rely on what they say. If you are in the gulch area flooding is highly unlikely unless you are over by Idem, as that is kind of a low spot. The water does drain away fast most of the time. Other than having an umbrella handy I would not worry about it, the rain is warm and for me I can be soaked and not care. I usually have an umbrella with me so I don't get too wet though. Also there is usually not much wind associated with the downpours, so you normally do not need to worry about your umbrella getting torn apart by the wind. Also you might find you leave your umbrella somewhere and do not realize it until you need it.

the afternoon rain is all part of the ambiance, embrace it
have an umbrella and grab a taxi nbd
occasionally it rains hard into the evening but not very often ime
imagine yourself alone in your room w a cute little chica (or an extremely large one if thats the case)
and the lightning and thunder combine w rain while you relax w the windows open and a bottle of centanario...
doesn't get much better than that

Thanks for the info.

I like cloudy with a chance of boobies forecast.

There are only good days at The Lodge no bad ones. Some are better than others
but all better than being back home at work.

from april/may to november- rain starts about midday/early afternoon and can go an hour or the rest of the day, it varies. and it can be light drizzle or torrential downpour. it rains daily, but there are days where it doesn't rain at all. umbrella is a good suggestion.

No trying to discourage anyone and the rain has never been a problem for me BUT:

The last couple of years the rain has been a lot more unpredictable than in the past. For example just in the last 36 hours (it is 7pm here now) - beautiful and sunny all day yesterday, 9pm last night it started raining, (and I do not mean just a light shower) and did not stop till early morning (around 5am), then bright and sunny for a while then mid morning rain again for a short time. Now it has been nice and sunny since mid morning.

Point is it can and does rain anytime of the day or night and it may or may not only rain for a couple of hours. We have had several "monsoon" rains this year. Also it was stated earlier that there are seldom rains accompanied by strong winds so did not have to worry much about destroying umbrellas!! Don't tell that to the 2 expensive umbrellas I have had destroyed by with wind so far this year!!

OPPS! it is raining again now!!!!

One other point; For many years the rainy season lasted from mid May till mid to late Sept/ early Oct. (about 5 months) Then a few years ago I noticed it seem to be starting earlier and lasting later. The last couple of years it has started in mid April and lasted till December!! Also there have been many more very heavy rains-- many more washed out roads and mud/and or rock slides!! There were at least 3 highways closed just last night!!!

All this said, for the monger tourist NOT REALLY THAT MUCH TO WORRY ABOUT!! Just bring an umbrella with you or buy one ASAP after arriving!!

Don't let the rain discourage you. It most likely will rain, but it's not a deal breaker, unless your main reason for visit is to run a marathon or go on a long bike ride.

I'm with Tman. Let's see if we can get 300 VIP's to attend this year. If you think about it, that's less than 5 percent of the total membership. It's do-able !!!

Also, since this thread will be around for several months, please only post if you're coming. I'll edit the list on an ongoing basis.

Gentlemen.....Bring your party hats. I got a feeling that this will be the biggest CRT event in history. Book your rooms now. They're already going fast......

Mucho Gusto
