Just discovered this site and going through the newbie advice. I am in Panama City now and am considering leaving to go straight to CR instead. I have a full week. Should I cut Panama short and go to CR or spend a couple days in Panama first then CR? 38 yo

ZZZZZZZZZZ.....Panama.....snooze fest. If you've seen the canal, then you're done there. Come to CR, hang in the gulch, live it up, make new friends, get tons of poon-tang, get mind boggling memories....YES!!!

Panama City may not be as exciting as CR, but it is still a great place to visit. Try out the Royal Casino at the Marriott. It can be an active spot for the ladies. Also, most/many Panamanians speak English and the almighty US dollar is their currency...no issues with conversion rates, etc. I am going to spend one night there as an overnight layover on my way to Colombia this summer.

One night is tolerable, the same can be said for Ft. Lauderdale Florida and it's just as hot....
