Have to have some significant dental work done on Wednesday April 11 so am coming into town a bit early to play a bit. Tried to get a room at the Sportsmens but they only showed a Mansion suite available. Thought about the Amistad / Castillo but after Wednesday the all inclusive would be worthless to me because of the dental work.

Found a room at the Taormina through booking.com for $77 a night. This includes a free breakfast and the 13% hotel tax.

I plan on spending time at the Sportsmens and the Del Rel / Key Largo of course in addition to Poas and Theos. If anyone wants to grab a drink or two, give me a shout.

you dont have to get the all inclusive at Amistad... you can also use the CRT rate for non all inclusive

Ill be staying at La Amistad starting on the 7th and leaving on the 10th.

I understand that you can use the CRT discount for non all inclusive stays but the rate with tax for a King room at LA with the 15% weekly discount still comes out to a bit over $95 a night. The Queen rooms are just a bit too small for me. Since I am going to be there 10 nights, the Taormina will save me almost $200.

That said, if I was not going to have severe mouth pain for a few days I would definitely spend the extra bucks and go for the LA all inclusive which I think is one of the best values in town. All of the great food you can consume, free beer and most cocktails, free laundry and transport to Jaco and the Airport. For $10 you can't beat it.

Maybe I'll run into you. I will definitely be stopping down there for a good dinner (Sunday or Monday) before I have my dental work done.
