Ok guys I wasn't sure of where to post this so it seemed appropriate to post in this section. I'm off the entire week of Thanksgiving and really close to booking a 4 night stay in San Jose or Jaco. I have been to San Jose the week of Thanksgiving a few years ago and it was pretty busy and we did a day trip to Jaco on Thanksgiving day and it seemed busy as well. My first thought is to hit San Jose and stay at Castillo (all inclusive) to help out with the meals each day and some drinks. I know Sportsmans does a nice Thanksgiving dinner so that would be nice to hang with others and have some good food that day. While searching around I have looked into Jaco as well and Crocs seems like a good spot to stay with the casino etc. but not sure how the action is there. Any helpful advice from all you veterans is much appreciated ![]() |

With a short trip like you're planning, I recommend staying in SJ.......where there's more opportunity for "fun" at night AND IN THE DAY. |

yeah I can only do a 4-5 day trip and SJ is probably what I will end up doing. I'm debating on 11/18 - 11/22 back for Thanksgiving or 11/20 - 11/25 and be there for Thanksgiving. I'm sure a lot of guys are traveling solo so not too worried about not meeting people to hang with. Last time we were in town we met up with BASH on this forum and had a good time with him. I liked the SL atmosphere hanging with everyone and it was very relaxing in there for sure. How far is Castillo from SL, safe to walk alone in SJ at night? |

The chicas con bananas frequent that corner by INS. |

Good rooms. Nice people. Great food (get the $10 all inclusive package). Free laundry service. FREE ride to and from Jaco if you stay 4 nights. If you also want to go to Jaco then a good plan is to stay the first two nights and the last two nights at La Amistad. This allows you to pack light since you get free laundry and it gives you a free ride to and from Jaco. |

great advice Spokes, I'm kind of hesitant about traveling alone but I know a lot of other guys are doing the same exact thing possibly. Right now I'm 50/50 on it and I still may do it because I would be back for Thanksgiving so would be able to chill with the family and also get the CR fun beforehand. |
