Staying at the La Amistad in a penthouse... in a few weeks.. Booked online. Anyone have any insight??? Worth the cost? Any recent pictures you can send? Of course i opted in on the all inclusuve. But what about the actual hotel room. Specifically the penthouse.... How awkward is bringing women back there? Are the rooms really penthouses or just a an upsale compared to normal standards. Anything else you want to throw in feel free on this hotel.

All the Penthouses I have stayed in are nice. They are worth the price. Plenty of room.

The only drawback is that the girls you bring there may whine about all of the stairs. But they will be happy once they get there. There is no other awkwardness.

Aside from penthouses, can anyone provide insight also on the other suite/apartment rooms? I searched but really couldn't find anything from the one big thread I read.

I got 314 I think for the nice penthouse with a balcony with lots of stairs.

And I think there is one with a couch and a larger room overlooking the entrance with lots of windows? I don't like lots of light though and like to keep it cold...but also think that room had a weird setup?

But couldn't find detail on other room suites/apartments. I'm coming for a trip and would like a couch if possible that doesn't need a large area but just something that isn't a bed and small bathroom...

Love some insight too!! And thanks for whoever can provide that's stayed or seen the setup.

rooms get changed around
but one thing in all seriousness
the first set of stairs on your left past reception has one odd sized stair
i've seen guys trip, go down, and one smash open his face
if you are sitting at the bar you can see it 2/3's of the way up
you've been warned

Last time I stayed there, I actually downgraded my room when I got there. Realised that I didn't need all that extra space since I'd hardly be there and the other rooms I looked at were really good too. When you arrive, just ask to look at all of the available rooms and make your decision then. From what I saw, there is really no 'standard' room. Each one is unique. So you may prefer the layout of one room over the size of another.

Smart!! I will keep my reservation room 202 and then ask to see what else is available. Once i check them out, ill determine rather to stay put or change rooms / price. Ive read nithing but good things on this place so im very optimistic!!! Border line estatic !!

I prefer the queen bed rooms on the 2nd or 3rd floor. All inclusive is a super deal. The food and drinks are well worth the $10. La Amistad is a funky old coffee baron mansion. It has a real cool vibe. You'll enjoy sitting around and comparing notes with the other adventurers.

It's not awkward at all bringing women back to your room at the La Amistad. Just stop at the desk and let her show her ID. This is for security and for your protection to make sure she's of age.

Enjoy brother.

Room 202 is a very nice room with a large shower, huge jacuzzi, sauna and about 5 windows that you can open and let the breeze in. You go up the first set of stairs before you get to the reception. I loved the room and you can see everyone entering the building

Don't eat the chicken or ask them to cook it longer. Leave the shrimp alone. I got sick eating their shrimp. Threw up. 30 minutes later I was good to go.

Castillo is cool. I checked the place out recently. They have a nice Penthouse with a balcony and an excellent view.

Menu is limited but chief will make you whatever if you ask and they have it.
