The Hotel M (former called Medellin Mansion) is the Sportsman's Lodge equivalent. Rooms are hard to get on late notice, as between both facilities, there are only two dozen rooms. They are bed-and-breakfast, no restuarant, and the bar in the main building is only open at night. However, kichen priviledges are available. Unlike SL, only screened chicas are allowed to lounge by the pool or hang out at the bar, unless a guess invited them in. It is good for Medellin newbies, as you would have an English speaking staff, a dozen potential wingmen/guides, and one of the owners organizes tours of the daytime casas/MP's.

Since you have a smaller chance of finding a vacancy at this time than you would becoming a space shuttle door gunner, I would recommend renting a furnished apartment and hooking up with a wingman. Good apartments in the same neighborhood as the Mansion can be had at competitive rates with jacuzzi, full kitchen/living room, etc.

There are some nice small hotels in Poblado, and prices can be compared via Expedia and other sites. However, check on what their chica fee policy is. Call or e-mail before you commit. I paid for double occupancy at one place (not sure if it was at the Hotel Element or the place next door) but they registered the first chica I had over, then started to charge me for every visitor I had who stayed over an hour.
