Hi guys,

due to an early flight I was thinking about staying my last night at the Holiday Inn Express right at the airport. Is this too far away to enjoy the Gulch and bring someone back if I decide to? I was just trying to make the morning a little easier by staying right at the airport. I have never really been in San Jose before. Am I just better off getting a room at Sportsmans or La Amstad? Wanted to watch the football games on Sunday somewhere anyways.

I would say stay at La Amstad it's more laid back and maybe a little quieter, easier for you to get up in the morning? They can have a taxi ready to take you to the airport. Its just a very short walk to the sportsman or you could even go to the Del Ray its not far as well to watch the game and see the night life.

You say "we". If there are more than one of you then splitting the cost of a taxi to go to the gulch will be reasonable. $30 each way. Hit the massage parlors and taxi back to the airport for football games. After a few days in Jaco you will be tired. Crocs will not let girls in until after 6pm but I have used the Cadillac Hotel for short term in the day. It's not bad. have fun.

The Holiday Inn Express is "Chica hostile". I had registered mi novia and the desk clerk whipped out a $70 (IIRC) Chica fee form complete with requirements for passport info (mine) before it dawned on him that I was getting hostile because she was a registered guest.

Expect to pay out the ass Chica fees at the US chain airport hotels unless it's a Favorita that you registered.

Good decision. Holiday in is too far away and you will be there for SB weekend. Be sure of SL tix and get a good table. If you can, find some friends who have a party going there in a suite !
