Post subject:  Newbie heading to SJ 7/3 or 7/4

Hey guys. I already posted a little in the hotel section, but I figured I'd post my updated plans here.

I'm all set for staying Zona on 7/4 for 2 nights, but it looks like I might head down fron Arenal a day earlier.
I definitely would love to meet up with any veterans here to explain or show me the ropes. PM me.

I do have a question about going out with a local (non prostitute):
Even though I plan to do some mongering (hence Zona) but I also was laying groundwork on tinder since I am a decent looking 34 yr old. One tica who seems to speak perfect english (or at least type haha) is very adamant on meeting me when I am in SJ. She says she is a radiologist and looks pretty normal.

The problem is I realized that telling her I am staying at Zona probably would put a stop to it. Since I am coming a day earlier, I was thinking of getting a more regular place to stay for Sunday. I still am unsure I I want to take time pursuing this, though I wanted to hear anyone's suggestions for this situation.

Holiday Inn is a nice hotel, and I'm sure I would be acceptable to her, near all of the action. But it will cost you a $70 chica fee whether she is a street girl, doctor or a former female Secretary of State.

Yea La Amistad is really great, with no chica fee, and really should be acceptable for your date, but they will ask for an id as a protection for you.

Yeah I was thinking Amistad would be good if they have room. Was hoping to save some $ though.

Air B&B. I've used it down there and had a good experience. Nice way around front desk looks too.

This assumes this radiologist isn't "working" part time. Which sparkie needs to figure out. To quote a favorite book "Of course I'm not a prostitute, that's why I charge $100!". (More Dances With Prostitutes).

Haha yeah I am not too naive to understand the possibility that she still could be a "working" girl.

It would be good to know before you make any assumptions.

A 'more regular place to stay' that will "save some $" is a $51 2nd or 3rd floor standard room at Hotel Taormina (though once you factor in eating and drinking Hotel La Amistad is cheaper, but the rooms are more spartan).

I think you will find that any tica a gringo "meets" through a dating app - unless you're a Spanish-speaking '10' yourself - is at least a semipro.

Did she ask if you wanted company? Because that's what they ask.

Taormina always makes a copy of the cedula, and you have to sign the copy. Some non-pros may get offended at this, even if they understand it's just hotel policy

Any hotel that allows guests will do something similar for a chica that isn't registered when you check in.

La Amistad keeps her rcedula, for example.

The only way to avoid it is if she checks in with you .

I think it's a great policy. Hotel Dunn Inn used to call your room when the chica left to make sure everything was ok, don't know if they still do that. i don't know what SL's policies are regarding this but I know Bill runs a pretty tight ship.
