Thinking about going to Granada, Nicaragua early June. Any recommendations on chica friendly hotels? What bars or other locations to find chicas? Saw an old posting on here for Hotel/Hospedeja Valeria being chica friendly, is this still good info?

After Granada heading to Northern part of Nicaragua. Debating on renting car in Granada and head north or taxi back to Managua and get rental at airport? How is the road between Managua and Granada?

Thanks,

Hey VooDoo, I was there a little over a year ago so it may have been my TR you read. Here is a link to that post:

Yes , Hospedaje Valeria is the place to stay. It is a half block off of the Calzada, the main walking street. It is very quiet and just far enough of of the Calzada that you don't hear the noise if you turn in early!! The one thing that was a detractor to the trip was there were not many chicas to be found. 4 or 5 at the most. Maybe it was the time of year I was there, IDK!! They are not hard to spot as they walk up & down the Calzada & will probably come up to you after eye contact & a little smile.

As far as the taxi $40 should get you from the airport to HV, then another $40 to get back to the airport. The ride from MGA to HV is about 40 min or so & extremely uneventful! I'd just taxi back to the airport & rent a jeep or whatever there, that way they won't charge you all knids of B.S. fees for having to "return" the car to Granada. Rent from an airport RAC Co. so they can give you a free ride back to MGA when you are done with your trip.

If you'll PM me I'll try to dig up my Nica-Chica report & fwd it to you.!

Hope this helps,
CostaReeker

Hospedaje Valeria is the place to stay. It's a small, comfortable hotel that caters to our hobby with a handful of permanent residents on site. The owner knows why we're there, and she has a phone full of sweet Nicas who will make you very happy for $50 or less.

I advise calling ahead for a reservation. Rooms are about $40US, a little more if you want breakfast prepared on site. She can be full at times.

505-8454-1325 or 505-8456-5879.
liliancarba@yahoo.com (the owner. People call her Valeria, but her name is Lilian)
hospedajevaleria@gmail.com

Location: Calle El Martirio, de Catedral 3 cuadras al Lago, 25varas al norte. Granada, Nicaragua.

When you call, you need to talk to the owner. Sometimes the housekeeping staff answers the phone.... and can get confused. The owner has good English, and, like I said, knows what we want. She'll be a big help for you.

If Valeria's is full, she has several friends in the lodging business who have hotels nearby. She'll be glad to take you to her friends' hotels to find a room for you if she's full. She's REALLY a BIG help to us.

The road between Granada and Managua is a major thoroughfare. Traffic moves quickly, except in crowded Managua. I like to take cheap busses between cities and very cheap taxis within a city in Nicaragua. Be aware that Nicaragua uses "ride sharing" in taxis. You likely will not be the only client in the taxi..... unless you request exclusivity and pay a little more for the privilege.

If you want to go into northern Nicaragua, where it's a little cooler with less humidity at the higher altitudes, I think that Esteli is much nicer than Matagalpa......but it depends on what you like.

Research both regions.
