I got Spirit RT from FLL for $225.31!!! Can't pass on that chit!

I'm coming in Tuesday the 1st, and leaving Wednesday the 9th, but I will be in the gulch and looking for friends from Friday the 4th thru the 9th.

Looking to spend some time in Alc, Arc, J&N and LeGri. let me know if anyone's down for some club crawling in the early AMs ...

Also, if any newbies want to take the Sunday morning sightseeing, photo-op, Cartago/Irazu/Orosi tour to get the 'regular stuff' out of the way (while the scene is in church), then send me a PM and I'll see if I can set it up.

See ya guys on the ground.

PS: use the Calendar if you'll be in town: http://costaricaticas.com/forums/calendar.php?calM=9&calY=2015

I'm curious, is there a post that has such a photo tour layed out? I'll be on my 3rd trip in October, and I have very few photos to show regular people. I just keep telling everyone how beautiful the country is. LOL. If you can suggest a route to take to get in a good amount of photos I would greatly appreciate it.

You want photos without datestamps, including in the metadata. So many guys forget this and email a borrowed photo as their own, and then the operating system displays the datestamp which is two years older than when the guy claimed he took the photo ... but just for showing images, PM me and I'll email ya a stack.

Looking forward to partying over the weekend. However, I may have to skip the tour on Sunday.

I'm sorry, I did not make my intentions clear at all...can you suggest good places to go snap pictures...perhaps a walking tour or to hire a car and go get the pictures that make it look like one is a real tourist? On the other had, I really like your idea of borrowing someone else's pictures. Thanks for the offer! :-) I actually hadn't thought of doing that. LOL

I usually take guys on the Cartago run. Irazu volcano (and cloud top vistas), Orosi valley, the water reservoir, the dam, the mountaintop restaurant, the old church ruins in the valley (and the ones in the main city), the new(er) basilica, etc. I tell the guys to change the dates on their cameras (or phones) so as to appear as multiple days' worth of shots.

You can also take the Moka Coffee plantation / Poas volcano / La paz nature preserve/waterfall tour, sold at all hotels. It's an all-day thing, but again 3 to 4 separate venues provide several days' worth of 'activity'.

I "so" discourage guys from single-day trips to the coasts. You literally spend 4 to 8 hours in a vehicle, there and back. Instead, go to your location and stay overnight. You will not feel rushed, or desperate to get back.

Sundays and Mondays are good days to head out of the gulch. Just remember that traffic flows out on Friday and in on Sunday.

And don't plan on going to MA on Sunday( unless you are at the entrance very, very early you will spend most of the day waiting to get in) or Monday (it's closed on Mondays last I heard).

I'm thinking about doing a Fri, Sat, Sun at Sportsmens for Labor Day. I have room reservations, but just waiting on JetBlue to get reasonable.
