Hello Everyone!

First I want to thank you all for the information on this site it was a gold mine! My flight is booked I ended up going with Spirit, unfortunately, it was a solid $240 bucks cheaper than the second cheapest which was Delta, even after baggage fees and the like, so wish me luck.

I am staying at the SL. I like the idea of making friends in a relaxed atmosphere. I might do one day at Jaco Beach just to see the ocean (I live in a landlocked state, but couldn't bring myself to stay there the whole time, Cocal seemed too overwhelming for my tastes. )

You'll probably see me asking a few questions here and there before my trip. It's my first trip outside of the United States so I'll admit to being a bit nervous. My Spanish speaking skills are non-existent, but I can understand quite a bit. I'm working steadily to improve it before I get there.

Anyhow, I've got a solid amount of money budgeted out to buy you folks rounds or feed ya if you want to help a monger out. Otherwise I will see you around. Hopefully, I can contribute some solid trip reports!

Hey bud! Coming down May 23, staying in HDR till the 26 then off to Jaco for 5 days and rounding my trip off at SL 5/31 and 6/1, leaving 6/2. Definitely buy ya a beer when I'm there Funny, you sound pretty much like my situation. lol

Well... Bad news folks.

My finances took a major hit due to some family... shenanigans... that I have had to fix. The short of it is that I no longer have a budget for the trip. I am hoping I can get my finances squared away towards the end of Summer around the end of July, beginning of August, that is the only other time I can get off work, if not then, I would have to wait until December. Good news is that after a chunk of taxes and cancellation fee I do still have some money left for my ticket with Spirit, so hopefully I can put that to use.

To say I'm disappointed is a little bit of an understatement, I actually stopped my local mongering in anticipation of the trip - 3 months ago - so... you all can imagine my state of mind I'm sure!

I want to thank everyone who contacted me through PM and responded to my posts offering to hang out, you all made a monger feel very welcome and I really look forward to making some friends once I finally get my ass down there!

Bummer for you, but I will be in San Jose Sportsmens from May 27th till May 29th then headed to Cocal for the Saturday and Sunday show! Hope to see you there and have a drink together!
