I usually come to Costa Rica in October. Really love the rainy season. I didn't make it last year as I splurged for 3 weeks in Southeast Asia. That flight is OK every couple of years or so but I need to accumulate more miles as I can't fly that far in coach anymore.

That said, I will be coming back to San Jose this year. Besides visiting the usual haunts, I also like to explore the muy Tico places like Molino Rojo, Arcadas, VIPs, Pantara Rosa, etc. I'm not a huge fan of the massage parlors but am always willing to explore.

I also like the Gringo "dive" bars but it sounds like Poas is the only one left.

Itinerary is a follows:

Arrive SJO on the 16th. Staying at La Amistad through the 22nd. Looking forward to the all inclusive.

Off to Jaco for three nights at the Cocal.

I return to SJO on the 26th. Staying at the Sportsmens through the 30th as the SL was already booked full for Halloween.

Moving to Zona II for four nights.

I will be spending a lot of time at the Sportsmens as it is the best place to watch college and NFL football.

My Spanish is serviceable and I have 20+ trips under my belt. Send me a PM to meet up for a beer or two.
