So.... did you lot of swingin' dicks miss me? It's been a long time since I've posted on the board and even longer since I headed down the gulch for some "recreational activity", but it's time to get back on the merry go round and ride.

First of all, allow me to explain why I've been away for so long....

In 2007 I went back to school to acquire a degree in Avionics. Needless to say, this is not an easy course of study, so from 2007 to 2010 most of my time was spent either working, going to class or studying, with very little time in between for sleep, amongst other recreational activities (including trips to the gulch or posting on message boards with a bunch of other dirty old horn dogs). In 2010 I graduated and got a job in Palm Springs, CA with an airline maintenance facility, so I left my home of 17 years in Colorado and made my way to the west coast. Unfortunately, I discovered quickly that my Morning Glory Syndrome gave rise to many issues which made it impossible to work safely in an Avionics shop. So, the job was gone, and because the pay check was gone, very soon my condo in Colorado and car were gone as well.... but over $50,000 in student loans was most certainly NOT gone.

The company I was working for kept me on board, but moved me into a considerably lower paying position in San Francisco. It was nice living in San Francisco, but I found myself far worse off than I was before I went back to school. If you can believe it, about a year and a half after moving to the Bay Area, things managed to get even worse when the regional airline I was working for lost it's below wing contract with United. I wound up being placed on furlough with a whole bunch of other unlucky worker bees who were ground up under the wheels of the corporate machine.

I found myself out of work for a little over a year, but finally found a new job with another airline in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Once again I made the move across country. Unfortunately, my Morning Glory Syndrome also caused issues with this job, and it was agreed upon by all parties that it was probably in everyone's best interest if I quit before they were forced to let me go.

For the next few months I was out of work once again. Last August, I managed to acquire work with another airline in Colorado and found myself moving back to where this whole ordeal began in the first place. It's menial work (I'm barely more than a glorified stock boy), and the pay is hardly above minimum wage, but at least its steady work and its something I can do without failing.

So.... that's where I've been for the past seven years. Seven years.... has it really been that long????

Now that there's a little bit of stability back in my life (although I'm certainly nowhere near where I expected to be by the age of 48), it's time to try to introduce a little bit of fun back into my world. The last seven years have seen very little of it. So... if any of you guys happen to be in San Jose from September 21- 28, come join me for the celebration. We'll have a couple of brews at the Blue Marlin and take a few chicas on a trip around the sun.

Hope to see you there!!

Effects about one in ten million people. It's like winning the lottery, but not nearly as awesome....
