Well, my much anticipated maiden voyage to San Jose is drawing near. I’ll be in town from June 12th through the 22nd. I’ve booked 10 days at the SL and I’m hoping to cross paths with other CRT types as well as some of the locals like Bang Bang, Big Al etc. I generally like to get the lay of the land when I arrive at a place I’ve never been so I plan on doing a lot of walking around and exploring. Hopefully I can weasel my way into one of the walking tours that you guys talk about so much.
As for having a game plan…I avoid this, as things can change on a moments notice. I am more of a go with the flow kind of guy. I like to keep my options open so that I’m not disappointed if things don’t quite pan out as I had hoped. So, the only goal I have set firmly in stone is a dupla on my birthday which is the first Saturday I’m in the city (same day as SL Bill’s big birthday bash on the 14th).
So it’s wheels up soon. I fly out of San Francisco on the 11th with an overnight layover in Las Vegas and another short layover the next day in Panama City. If all goes well, I should be in the gulch by about 5pm on the 12th. Looking forward to meeting some of the CRT brethren for a drink, a laugh and hopefully some sound advice.
