I just booked my virgin trip to San Jose for January 6th. I paid for the VIP membership and I will be staying at La Amistead with the CRT discounted price. I am new to Costa Rica but not new to mongering as I am a long time veteran of Thailand and the Philippines which I consider the gold standard of mongering. I am trying out Costa Rica because I want to explore shorter cheaper flights for one week vacations. I look forward to learning the ropes about San Jose. I debated about Sosua v. San Jose because there is a lot of buzz about Sosua but in the end, decided that Costa Rica is a good solid place to visit first. This website is great and I've learned a lot already about the bar scene, the MPs, the strip clubs, and I will post a trip report when I am out there.

Dreamer,

You're making all the right choices. Matt at LA is a great host and will help you get organized very quickly. A one week stay even gives you enough time to visit Jaco (if you're so inclined).

I made my cherry trip to CR in September and will be back next month.

My only word of caution is to prepare yourself for sticker shock. Most of the better girls in HDR, SL and stip clubs require USD $100 for a short time, and $300 for overnight (if they'll even go). You can get quick pops in MPs for +/- $40.

Looking forward to your TR

Bob

Yes, I've been catching up on the posts on this website and see the ballpark prices for freelancers at the Del Rey, SportsLodge and so on. They ask for cien but may go for $60-$80 (or so I am told), sometimes not. Massage parlor girls a better bargain but I'll get the full mix of experiences. More expensive, yes, but shorter cheaper airfare from the the East Coast saves me a few bucks. I hope I will like CR as an alternative from Asia for short one week trips. I can see that if I was in Florida, the flights can be even cheaper and shorter. I will still head over to Asia when I have two weeks or more to spare.

By best advice to a newbie after visiting here for 20 years is "Don't ever give a chic $100.00 for anything." This is what has driven the price up over the years and what will help drive the price up in the future. $300.00 for TLN? I can bang half a dozen 19 yo's or three threesomes for that. Monger smart, Grasshopper…..

many may ask for $100 but they certainly do not require it. I've spent a lot of time in CR this year & have brought 50-60 independent girls to my hotel room. I've paid $100 a couple of times but hey, they were worth it, I ask for a lot in the way of time/services & they delivered. Most will indeed go for less.

On my virgin mid-October trip I got 2 girls at the same time for $100 twice. All those girls were excellent. One pair at SL and the other pair from KL. The two from SL were unbelievable. Like everyone has said everything is negotiable.

If I was making my first trip to either SJ or Sosua I would probably pick SJ. I think it's more of a can't miss thing and more variety. But I still love Sosua and I alternate between both.

For an SEA vet going to these places don't expect a scene like SEA. But I do meet many Pattaya vets in Sosua who go there because it's their first choice for a short trip. The scene in Sosua is open like SEA but of course there is not nerarly the quanity. But that's why they like it. Sosua is also much cheaper than SJ. So I would keep Sosua as a furture option. But still SJ with it's great variety of women and it's numerous venues is a great choice.
