Doubletree Cariari is not Chica friendly and is far from the action downtown. It looks dated (1976?) but has nice beds and is very clean. I hear they charge $50 or more to bring a "guest" in with you. Better to go downtown...

i stayed @ the cariari cos of a 2x points offer from hilton (what can i say? i'm a hiltonhonors hog...) the only pluses is the hilton quality bedding and the supra nice breakfast buffet. if you're ending a longer stay in CR this may be a nice place to stay before you board the plane.

The rooms are nice. The casino is small. For fun go to DePufelos in Alulleia.

Correction; It was designed by the Barcelo Hotel Chain. Doubletree purchased it from Sol Melia/Barcelo about 6 or 7 years ago. The quality has gone down since Doubletree/Hilton took it over.
Rooms are expensive compared to other places.
DEFINITELY not chica friendly unless you check in with her. Rumor has it they WILL charge for double occupancy if you bring a guest. 2 chicas are never allowed.
Not very convenient to the gulch and cab fare can be expensive.

It's biggest plus is it is close to the airport, so if you are flying out or just heading to the coast traffic and time are not a big a concern.
I would stay there when Sol Melia owned it and my ex would meet me at the airport or the hotel. We would check in together and I never got charged a chica fee. Business class rooms were great back then with lots of amenities.
