Fellow mongers and poon hounds - my first trip to CR is now confirmed for September 7 - 14. I Reserved a mini-suite at the SL for the whole time (just seemed like the easiest thing to do for the first trip). I'm a newbie to CR but not to the hobby. I've done Rio (just before Help! closed down), Pattaya and Bangkok, Mexico and my most recent outing was to Sosua in the DR (Which I REALLY enjoyed).

So, my spanish is, um, "Taco Bell Spanish" with a few words I've learned from my housekeeper and gardener - probably wise to not use those, however. At any rate, I'm up for pretty much anything - pub/casino crawl, visiting a few select MP's, etc. So any of y'all interested in hangin' with a Phx, AZ guy on occasion, lemme know.

Looking forward to meeting some hot Tica's (and a few of you whore-mongers too!).

Any recommendations or thoughts you'd like to share always appreciated - stuff changes so fast it's almost useless to do a lot of research much before 2 weeks out.

Peace, Out -- Drew AKA: Papa Rotzi

Oh what the hell since it is your first trip.

1) use either pvt or big doggie to pick you up. Both are great and they will show a lot on the way to the SL.

2) do the day tour of the city of San Jose. Great trip.

3) sit on the balcony of the SL and relax. A favorite place of mine to relax at.

malepig -- thanks for the tips. I will def. use one of the recommended drivers; mini-tour on the way in. City tour is guided/tour bus I'm assuming. and the other tip, a given! Appreciate the help.

me & a wingy or 2 will be in sjo about that time, staying @ the LA. We visit the SL 1 or 2 or 3 times a day, until we get laid 1 or 2 or 3 times,-always like to chat with ex-Rio guys like myself & you to reminisce about the glory days of help, the termas, the beach, etc.....

Anybody else gonna be around the 2nd week of September-it's only 3 weeks away? Me & wingy JMS will be @ La Amistad from the 9th-16th. Between "dates" we'll be watching some football & baseball & enjoying taking some of Ron & Jimmy's money.

I'll be there the 8th-13th, a few days at HLH, a few at LA, maybe a day somewhere else. Might try Hemingway or Castillo for a night, never stayed at either. Or I might spend one might at Freebird, hit Relax , La Maison, and a few others down there. I can pm when it gets closer.

Unique itinerary. Stay at LA or HLH or the others and visit all the others and make your decision for next time, if that's what you are doing. All of them are 10 minutes from each other and all of the fun so I don't get your logistical angle. Don't forget the Mona Lisa or Dunn Inn. All are OK places, of course diff, but why go thru all that hassle of moving around and checking in and checking out and packing and unpacking for a day or two when they are all so close to each other? To me that's the worst part of traveling, checking in and getting settled. If your room is a pit and you have to bail out I get that, but to move around to other well documented properties on this board 10 mins apart to just get a taste of what they're like is an exercise I don't get.

Or maybe I am missing your goal and if so I apologize.

No need to apologize, we might just have different priorities. I am traveling pretty light, so moving isn't a big hassle for me. I have stayed at HLH several times and enjoyed it, so it is my first stop, as well as being someplace to settle in on Sunday. Monday I am going to try some different MP's that are close to it. The all inclusive at LA is something I had to try, as I have walked by often and really like the look of their menu, and by then I will be in chill mode. If the MP's I try on Monday aren't to my liking, I might call Dennis at Freebird for the ones down there. While I have stayed at SL before, and Bill is a great host, I go to SL for food and football, not so much for mongering. And the Del Rey is not my scene at all, only made one pull from there. So proximity to MP's and variety is most important to me.
