Hey guys,

Been lurking for about a week or so...have some vacation time I had to use so am making a solo trip to CR for 10 days in Jan. Would love to have company if anyone else is interested in showing me around. This will be my first time to CR...excited about rolling around solo but a friend for a day here and there would also be cool.

PS - i don't expect any responses since I'm brand new here but figured it was worth a shot in case any other newbies are traveling solo.

Where are you staying?

I'm coming in the 18th, by then you'll probably already be very familiar with the Gulch.

If you want to meet some great guys for info and to possibly show you around, just go to the SL for breakfast. There's always some great guys hanging out there every morning...including me.

Glad to see you found our little playground. Where are you staying at? The go to places for those that are new, are the Sportsman, Hotel Little Havana, Del Rey-Key Largo and New Fantasy (No particular order or favoritism listed). My only suggestion is to try and take your time and do not pull the trigger in the first 5 minutes, but you are in for a surprise. No matter what you read, until you experience it, nothing will prepare you for what is in store for you. I will be in town for a few weeks so if you decide to become a member here you can send me a PM.

I'll be arriving on the 14th and departing on the 21st. Staying at the Morazan. I Usually hang out at the Del Rey. Look me up and we can go and check out some massage parlors.

The first time I visited, I had a tour guide. I dont know if anyone offers that service any more, but it was well worth the 45 bucks to be shown all the venues. My guide even negotiated my first encounter at the Del Rey. He also became a good friend.

I'll be at the Sportsman from 10-15 finishing up a 7 week CR-Nicaragua_CR trip, I can tell you all I know in 15 min or so, but there won't be time to tell you all my mistakes. glad to do what I can.

Donkey, the best advice I can give to you is to pay for the vip membership for crt here. It is $39 a year and the savings you will get by staying at a hotel that honors the crt card and gives a discount will pay off the cost of the card in your trip, by the amount of money saved on your total hotel bill.

The only hotel that I am aware of that doesn't give crt members discounts that we usually like to stay at, but many members frown on, is ther Hotel Del Rey.Reach out to fellow memebers and they will be glad to recommend hotels that offer crt discounts if you mention you're a member when you make a reservation and show the card at check in.
