Making first CR trip this Monday the 26 of march. Open ended return !!

Wish to met some pros for the lay, all puns intended, of the land. thinking about HLH and the Del Ray. Maybe over to the pacific for a bit too. also carri g first time wingman. Please don't flame us right off the bat.

Any guidance would be great. Want to keep the prices down for all... Should be landing around noonish @ SJO.

You'll quickly meet other CRT at HDR, SL and/or HLH that will point you in the right direction. Get a CRT VIP membership will help reduce costs greatly also. Search for posts from Scuba1, Orange and other experienced mongers on the board, they have posted much info that will save you time and $$.

Krico's right. Pay the $35 to become a VIP member. You can pay on-line and pick up your membership card on the ground in SJ when you get there. The discounts will more than pay for the membership.

Where would I / we pick up these discount cards? Car rental ? Thinking about a day at the coast as well. How is mongering on the coast. Have no real plans for hotels, all pretty much wide open at this point. I am easy, like sunday morning.

It used to be that you could pay the VIP membership fee on this board with a credit card and then pick-up your card at the Dunn Inn when you get on the ground in SJ if you don't have time for the mail to work from Miami (Sunny Isles).

The administrator of this board has email for questions, and an 888 number. But he says that he wants 24 hours to answer.

Mongering at the beach, Jaco for example, is only a small fraction of what it is in SJ.

Book a reservation as soon as you can at any of the CRT sponsor hotels. HLH and SL are considered the best by many guys. I like HLH. The good places tend to fill up first.

Car rentals can be difficult and unpredictable. The busses work well and are cheap.
