I will be returning to CR after a 2 year hiatus for a much needed vacation. Wheels down 10:30pm on the 11th and lift off 12:30p on the 20th. There will be a trip to Manuel Antonio leaving Monday, returning Wednesday/Thursday to relax at the beach, read a book or two, and enjoy some nature. I am looking to break my old habits/comfort zone of staying at the Morazan. I could do without Ricky Ricardo, broken elevators, wrong remote controls, and no hot water on this trip.

How bad of an idea would it be to stay at HLH? Any input on the rooms, standard vs junior suite etc($80 vs $100)? I've been there previously (never grabbed a chica, still regret not snagging Pamela and her sister  ), and it seemed like a nice place. I wonder if the late check in on Friday will be an issue as they will be closed (later than 11pm)? I've been spoiled previously, by just walking back to the Morazan from the DR/KL, how much of a hassle is the taxi back to HLH? Do they even know the location? I fear a Tico guard nodded off and me locked out of my hotel if I come back late at night.

I wouldn't mind meeting up with some like minded individuals at the SL, if anyone is in town that week. I would enjoy some company to go find Relax, and maybe Idem.

flying out to manuel would be a plan. just go to the in-country services right there at the airport. $75 each way.
The Dey Rey is offering 29,000 colone rooms for 9+ days in this period.
The sportsman lodge is getting hype to stay there.
make a priority list, and do it. there are so many MPs in san jose, that you can cheap it all week, and climb into the Del Rey zoo and Key Largo on weekends.
Only the beetle bar is worth any time in Jaco.
Manuel is for quite time to rest after a week in san jose. LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL/

I was tempted to rent a car, until I looked and Sansa can get me there in an hour, and I think a free shuttle to my hotel, SOLD! I stay at http://www.verdemar.com/ Not a high end hotel, but affordable, and right on the beach in MA. Soda right there in the sand between the hotel and water, walking distance to the park.

Has anyone checked into the HLH after hours, and was it an issue? I'd rather not stay one night somewhere else and move over there the next day.
