BT: there are 3 Wifi open hotspots broadcasting using these SSIDs throughout the hotel: principal, guest, and mansion. One thing to remember - Windows 7 (and I presume Mac OS as well) will allow you to connect automatically to previously defined SSIDs. Yesterday I went to breakfast with my laptop; while I was in the bar area it connected to "guest". When I returned to Toro Negro, it was still connected to "guest" by default. I noticed this when I next used the laptop - I had a very weak signal and connection speed was godawful. After a WTF moment I realized what was happening, disconnected from "guest" and reconnected to "mansion". Signal strength returned to the usual 4 - 5 bars. Moral - when you're in Toro Negro, make sure you're using "mansion" instead of "guest" or "principal". mh |
