Post subject: | First Trip....And flying solo |
I am thinking of taking a quick trip to SJ in June and it will be my first trip. Thinking of flying in on June 8 and leaving on June 10. Making a quick trip to get some on-the-ground intel for a group trip we are planning in August. Anyone be there during my trip in June? Anyone willing to show me the ropes so to speak? I'm sure I am going to but I don't want to make too many rookie mistakes. Especially when I don't habla. I joined this site about a month or so ago and it is truly incredible. Any info or help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Fett |

Thanks Fett Gonna be gone by May 30th but i'm sure you will find plenty of wingmen when your date approaches, but you can learn a lot just by browsing and reading the forumn for the time being...I know I have ![]() |

I certainly have learned a lot already just by reading through this site. More than anything I am mostly concerned about the safety issue. Traveling alone in a country where I don't really speak the language is a little bit of a concern. By looking through this site I am pretty confident I will find a wingman or two. |

My advice.. Stay at the HLH. Really nice atmosphere, and close to all the action ![]() ![]() |

I hear ya about the safety part, I agree with PetRoto on staying at the HLH or a CRT friendly hotel you definitely can't go wrong there |

I am going in a couple weeks first time and solo to boot.... i suggest reading your ass off on these forums like I have been for the last 2 DAMN months!! Slowly but surely you get a feel of the gulch and all the goings on, but seriously it has taken me a couple months to get the feel. All I need is a morning with a wingman to get the feel of the place and after that I think I will want to branch off on my own and make my mistakes on my own!! haha. I like to do my own shit. Look forward to meeting up with others over a drink or 2 though - I am not a geek. |

You might seriously consider contacting Pops here on the board. For a nominal fee he will be your wingman. On my first trip, Pops showed me all venues and even negotiated my first chica session. He will show you where to eat, how to save money in many ways and is generally a very cool guy to hang out with. Send him a PM here at Pops or check out his website http://www.popsguideservice.net |
