Hello All, Arriving 1/29 for first visit... going to explore some of the SJ delights (and get some needed dental work). Town is very booked - I would pick Super Bowl weekend (duh)... so I am doing La Amistad on 1/29, SL for 1/30 to 2/1 - still looking at my options for 2/3-2/8. Suggestions for good hotel (that may be available) and where to meet a friendly crowd from the board? I'm not real keen on wandering SJ solo. (I don't drink, so at least I can keep a semi-level head). Thanks, Longboat |

The Sportsman's Lodge and The Dunn Inn will have CRT regulars. Not sure if the hotel is sold out for the days you are looking at but it would be a good alternative if it's not. |

Hey LB, I'm also solo & making my 1st trip; staying @ the Dunn 1/29-2/5, swing by when you get a chance. I booked a 'recon'/wingman/lesson with Pops, who comes ~highly~ recommended. Have you had a chance to read/take in the great newbie post from Orange? Best, 2E |

Thanks 2E, Read the Newbie posts - and printed them. I'll check in with you by Private Mail. Dunn was top of my list but booked solid so far - maybe someone will cancel 2/2-8 and make my day. I'll at least catch some of the festivities - and maybe play some poker. Longboat |

I will be staying at the Dunn Inn 27th through the 4th. I would be glad to show you around. If you want a formal tour contact Pops. He will be your wingman for one or two days and give you a lot of insight on all the venues. |

There is a get together for newbies at the Dunn Inn on Friday afternoons. You can meet some more experienced guys and wingmen. |
