If you don't know, it's a restaurant about 45 minutes from downtown. They have some of the best grilled pork chops (and other grilled meats and pastas) you will ever eat.

Is anybody down to go? I am thinking Saturday (SB weeekend), leaving around 11am-noon. I like to take the bus, it's about $2. A taxi costs about $20 each way. If we get a few guys, we could split a taxi.

For anyone who has NOT been to Pork Chop Hill, I'd strongly encourage you to take 3 or 4 hours out of your Saturday afternoon and DO IT. It's always a good time taking the bus with a bunch of other CRT guys, shootin' the shit and telling some lies. And the food there ??? Fuhgedaboudit !!! I'll be in town a couple weeks after Superbowl weekend, but if I were there that weekend, I'd definitely be on the list of attendees!

The bus is not bad at all, but there are some guys who would never get on a bus. It makes no difference to me. Looks like we'll have enough guys to get a van. It will run $50-60 with the driver waiting for us at the restaurant. I know it's CR and plans often go out the window, but if we book a van, please show up so the rest of us aren't stuck paying anybody's share for the taxi.

For those who have not been to Pork Chop Hill, I posted some pics a couple years ago in the gallery.
They're in the "Costa Rica - World Tourist & Scenery" section of the photo gallery.
I believe they're on the 2nd page of that section.

Picture I.D. #'s are:
12567
12568
12569
12570
12571
These are pretty good pics of the grill, but they still don't do it justice.
If you're a "meat & potatoes" kind of guy, you've gotta love this place!

CM,
It's hard to catch a taxi there, it's on a windy hill-side road, no vacant taxis pass by. The bus costs around 600¢ each way. If we take the bus, we can arrange for one of the SL guys to pick us up. But if the guy has to come to pick us up, he might as well just take us, wait about an hour, and bring us back for a little more $. If we can get one of them to go for $50, that would be a good deal. I think we have 9-10 guys interested, but it's usually unlikely that everybody shows up. I can try to ask some of the drivers listed on the drivers thread. Or if any of you know a driver with a van, you can ask too. Let me know and we can book them. Or I can book a van when I get into town next Thursday night. Either way, lets meet at SL at 10:45am at the end of the long bar (closest to reception). Or if we'll take the bus, that's cool too. Either way is fine with me, let me know your preference.
