Total nub to all this - but will be in CR mid-Dec through mid Jan. Will be doing tied up from the 19th through the end of the month and then again in Jan (hope to sightsee a bit) but have booked a room at SL 1/1 & 1/2.

I know that a couple of days is not much, but looking to get feet/etc wet. I have been reading up on the forums the last couple of days and have so think I know enough to really screw things up…
Would be interested in finding wingman/wiser monger (as a nub – not even closer to having that title myself) for the 1st & 2nd of December.

Might also be free the 17th – 19th of December… kind of winging the front end of the trip and plan on running to La Fortuna/Arenal 12/14-16.

Will do/have done Zander... saw your post on food options too...

On the subject of food etc... anyone have any recommendations or top 5/??? lists of things to do on a first trip to CR?

I am running down and doing some volunteering, diving, and general sightseeing in addition to Pop's Tour and 2 (yeh... only 2....) nights at SL. Only places I really plan on going is Arenal, a rafting trip (tbd when I get there - tooooo long since I have been in a kayak to try it in a small boat), diving and sightseeing down on the South/Central Pacific coast (Quepos - Oso pennisula). Should have xmas weekend free...

...so game for any recomendations...

I will be around the SL for 1/1 and 1/2, but I'm staying at the Castillo.

I hope it's not as dead as I've read, but I guess I'll have to see for myself.

I've done the rafting thing, you can do the Pacuare in one long day, from San José, if you want, it's doable. Or you could break it into two days. I did it in three days in July, and it was too long.

If San José is really dead, it might be more of an adventure. Like the quest for the Holy Grail.

I like where you head is WWolf

I have been NYE before, and ya, it is "quiet", but fk, it still beats ANY day in the US.
I'm looking very forward to next weekend.
