Hey gent, my friends and I are planning our first trip to CR, we plan on going during Spring Break, but I read that it might be a "ghost town" the week after Easter. IS THIS SO??? We don't want to waste our first trip in CR if it not happening! We have been to Thailand many times and are looking for the same kind of action in CR!!
anyone who knows about Easter week please respond.

See you in April!

SKY

It's ok up to the Wednesday before Easter Sunday. From Thursday to Easter it's indeed a ghost town, chica-wise. Thursday (Holy Thursday) and Friday (Good Friday) are official holidays in CR (it's a Catholic country after all), the country pretty much shuts down then, no alcohol can be sold, chicas go with their families to the beach. There will still be at least a few chicas around, probably bottom-of-the-barrel types, but honestly it's the absolute worst time for a mongering trip in CR. Go before or after, or someplace else. :D

I don't know if this will help, sky, but it has been my experience that either immediatly before or after Semana Santa has been fine for chicas anywhere I've travelled in Latin America. I haven't been to SJO during these specific times however.
