Hello everyone, new member here. I'm planning my first pilgrimage to the CR and would like some advice on the best time of year to go, if there is one. Thanks brothers!

For mongering there really are only two "bad' times. Easter week, Semana Santa in Spanish, and Christmas week Dec. 25 - Jan 1.

Temperature is basically the same all year and the rainy season extends from May to mid November if you are concerned with normal tourist activities.

The chicas seem to know that it gets crowded for our hobby around Memorial and Labor Day weekends plus Super Bowl and it tends to bring out some of the part timers who can be real gems. Have a great time!! YMMV DRD

Well personally I would not go during the rainy season for your first time...Especially if your going to go sight seeing visibility is nill to nothing....I went to Jaco at the end of April it was a complete scrub torrential downpour all day long....December through February is my favorite times....But if mongering is your main focus anytime is the right time except during there holidays as mentioned....I live in Seattle I have had enough rain cant stand it on a vacation just my 2 cents.......Svenson

There is really no bad time, except for Easter and Christmas weeks. Also, the big holiday weekends brings in more gringos, so some of the more popular girls tend to be busier.

Holloween in SJ is a great time. My first trip to CR was Holloween in 2008. Talk about a memory seared into one's mind.....my first day there and walking into HDR on a Friday afternoon, plenty of outstanding talent available, only lasted about 1 hour and had to get my first HDR chica.
Then coming back down to the HDR at night and the Holloween party was in full swing.....about 1/3 of the chicas had fantastic costumes on. Have read that SL has a great Holloween party also with a lot of costumes.
It was so good, was back for Holloween in 2009 and planning to be back again this year.
