I arrive 9/2 on AA flt 937 arriving 1pm. If anyone is coming around that time let me know here or PM if you want to share a taxi. I do go upstairs to exchange cash, other than that, direct to La Amistad then for a MP release. Dean |

I arrive about an hour before you, but I'll be wanting to get to HLH and get my first chica, I will be at SL shortly thereafter, look for a tall handsome bald guy with glasses, or just yell out "Keith, you forgot your beer" and I'm sure I'll find you Cheers EDit: I arrive on the 2nd, not the 31st |

A friend and I just got back from our first trip to San Jose. Just wanted let you guys know of an incident that happened to us when we first stepped out of the airport. We are looking for the bank at the airport to make a currency exchange. We ask a guy who seems to be a taxi driver where the bank is. He says.."no..don't go to the bank..the cops will not let you in the bank to make a currency exchange..they will demand a bribe..." He is taking fast and since we didn't know any better we guess that what he is saying is true. He asks where we are staying (HDR) and offers to take us into town for $22. We agree. His car wasn't the orange type taxi. It looked like a civilian car. My friend gets in the back and for some reason it occurs to me to go in the front seat. My logic was to take a slightly more confident stance or whatever. So he pulls out a receipt book and asks me for my name. I give him my first name but then give him a different last name. He then asks me for my passport number and I quickly say that I am not giving him that. He says he needs it for the receipt. I again refuse. My friend offers to give him his (he later told me he gave a fake number). Throughout our trip we took several taxis and none ever asked for our name much less passport number. Was the taxi guy trying to scam us? My friend later joked that I acted like a rude ugly american..LOL |

I’ve never had that happen to me although I always take the cabs that are properly marked. Reading the CRT should have given you some sort of heads up in regards to taking cabs. Glad you made it out ok. ![]() |

That was a pirate taxi I used them before I knew better w/o a problem The line about the bank is BS Now I do not know why brother Dean wants to save money I hear he is loaded(most of the time) He will not need a taxi, He will con the Duty-free girl to quit here job on the spot and drive him to the gulch Once there he will offer her a glass of water, from the tap, and a free one Thats game ![]() |

When instituting the quit your job, give me a ride for a glass of water maneuver, one must be sure to put ice in the water. It is critical that she has a cold glass of water which can not happen directly from the tap. It is all outlined in a book I read called "The Mongering Moocher" published by Cambridge Press, located near where the author lives. His name eludes me at the moment, I believe it is Njjoe, but that is just his alias. For instance, eating for free, "Vermont Viddles". You go to dinner with a CRT brother and when the check arrives you pull out the copy of your passport, say "Oh no". You feverishly frisk all your pockets, then say "Damn". You tell the CRT buddy that you thought you put your money with your paperwork and it's not there. You say you hope you didn't drop it and the CRT guy starts feeling a bit sorry for you. Then you tell him to wait here and you will go to the hotel. Now, you obviously don't have money for a taxi and you are willing to walk it. But, during dinner, you tell him about some hidden MP where the girls are 10's and plan on going after dinner with him. He will not be willing to wait for you to walk so he will pick up the tab. You insist on getting him next time. It is critical that you do not stay at the same hotel so you don't cross paths at a later date. Since you are so worried about losing your money, you are not in the mood to go to the MP. You just want to walk back to the hotel to clear your head. Njjoe is one shrewed shyster. ![]() Dean |
