El Silencioso's 50yr bday is next weekend, Easter is coming up, don't be there then, CRT annual party is in August, Prices for a lot of the tourist crap go down in Aug... Rainy season starts in Sept, (ok Aug) it's cheap for a lot of stuff down there then...
To book a room at the SL you need to book about 6 months in advance...that MIGHT be an exageration, but if you want a specific room, that's probably not far off.
CR does not compare to pattaya, don't know singapore.
There are tons of threads comparing CR to Rio/Pattaya... they can do it more justice than I...
