I'm planning on going to Costa Rica during the second week of February by myself. Is anyone else planning on being there during this time? Is it possible for someone to show me the lay of the land?

Mike:
I will be in San Jose 2/3-2/9 and back again on the 15th. This is a solo trip for me, as well, so we should try hooking up and serving as each other's wingman. I'm booked at the Castillo, but will be hanging out most early evenings at the SL.

Do you mean Pamela at the ZB/HLH? If so, yes I will be happy to introduce you.

Well guys, you probably couldn't have picked a better (worse?) time to make your virgin trip to CR. During the middle/end of February there will probably be more veteran CRT guys in San Jose than anyone's ever seen.

So yes, there will be PLENTY of guys to show you around.

Welcome to CRT! :)

Please spend the time between now and then reading newbie info and stuff here on the site (god I hate sounding like that, sorry), you will seriously benefit from that background even before you hit the ground for your first trip. And I also consider joining as a VIP (sheesh, I'll stop now I promise) and you will get access to a map of everything for our hobby in SJ and more importantly you will 1) save more money by far than the cost of membership on your first trip alone in expenses, and 2) get more guys to take you seriously as someone who really is interested in learning.

For me it has to do with a combination of nicer weather that time of year, cash flow, and having a 3 day weekend which means one less vacation day on the books. Like Paco mentioned, I'm very romantic too around Valentine's day :)

That, and one of our amigos is having his 50th Birthday Party Bash and everyone's coming in for that.

The guest list is staggering LOL Sportsmen's has been booked for months.

So many that the girls are already starting to make plans to work in shifts LOL.

I will be down for my first trip February 21-28 and lucky enough to get a room at the SL.
I spoke to a friend that was down previously and got info on all the resturants and other places of entertainment. But there's nothing like meeting people that are good company and can show you the places firsthand.
A party should be a great way to start off the first night of the trip!
