I have been drooling at all the trips reports for SJ and finally plopped down my money to come Nov. 7th.
I was reading the following trip report and thought based on my experience I would likely mirror this (so I thank him for his report)

However, I realized I might want to give up some of my own details and see if I might be exposing myself to to much risk. I will be coming in late on the 7th to La Amistad. And I will be on my own. I prefer to monger on my own. I have been through Mexico and Korea, Phillipine, Bulgaria and some other choice places I won't mention here. I am a big guy and very confident. Copy of passport, take taxi when I can.

But I really enjoy walking. I will be ok walking around during the day. Unless you have a gun or three guys I wouldn't be what I would consider a normal target I would think in normal places. How aggressive are the night time theives and players?

And just in case I don't feel comfortable, is there anyone going to be around during that period? maybe I would commit to cab for a few nights.

FYI-There are armed robberies during the day too. They usually rob people with guns or some other deadly weapon, a "boo" doesn't get them as much money. Your size is irrelevant, so don't walk around town by yourself. Go to Sportsmens Lodge and there are a lot of other CRT's at the bar daily. Talk with them and they will be happy to show the newbie around.

Just take a cab its one dollar, no big deal. However big you are matters sometimes but sometimes it doesnt when you have a crackhead or just a plain idiot, and since the event is so random you could end up with a crack head on you just the same...so just pay the dollar for the cab and do not walk after 6

Thanks I had read that before but its a lot more relevant to me today than when I read it before.

Also, does La Amistad charge a chica fee?
