Well, I guess I'm going to take my virgin trip to MDE over Thanksgiving. :D I would like to stay at the Mansion but haven't found them yet on the web. :cry: Anyone looking for a newbie wingman to scout for kittens hit me up. :wink:

Ya, thats where I found it, but I mean once in Colombia where do I go? Is it at the airport or should I go to a local bank? Thanks guys. At least the peso is close to the 2 to 1 ratio.

Get your Pesos from an atm. They are all over the place and you will get a good exchange rate. From most atms you will be able to withdraw up to $ 400 K in a single transaction. Leave your shorts and hawaiian shirts at home and don't be an ugly Norte Americano, not saying you are anyway, but alot of mongering Norte Americanos are starting to rankle the good Paisas of fair Medellin. Please don't be one of them and enjoy your virgin trip . I'v visited there about 8x in the last 15-16 months and it is one beautiful city and the vast majority of the Paisas are great. If you need a # for a reliable taxista pm me.

Thanks for the help guys, but I think I'm going to pass on this trip since the airfares are through the roof. Even Taca is sold out that week. AA wants over $800 for coach, and I only fly up front $2300. I guess its CR or the Dominican.

I just got back from Medellin last week. I stayed with a novia in Itagui(a suberb south of medellin). I dont know much about the mongering scene there but I can tell u that if your a gringo that speaks spanish this place is pu*sy heaven(just go to any disco in central Medellin). Parque Botero is in central medellin and can be really dangerous at night. Dont go roaming the streets at night, take taxis.

Preach on, brother. I have been diligently honing my Spanish skills precisely because of the scene in Medellin. And yes, the Mansion is GREAT. You can find a wing man there no problema, but it's best to go with a buddy if you can.
