Greetings all,

I've been reading the forum pretty much non-stop since I registered. (Yes I signed up as a VIP)

Already made a couple mistakes, first is, I booked at the Mariott by the airport, so based on what I've read, I'd be looking at $20 each way cab fare to where I really want to be. So based on that, I'm thinking of booking a 2nd room at the SL for banging purposes. Considered the HDR since I'll be there so much but was put off by their high room rates and the chica fee.

Disappointed to read about the recent MP crackdown as I've always wanted to visit ZB (and to pick up my VIP card). I'm hoping all is resolved by the time of my visit.

2nd mistake I made was in picking my dates, now that I know CRT has a yearly bash, I will be in attendance going forward beginning next year.

A little about myself, I turned 40 last week, I've been to SJ once before. Was dragged to Hotel Asia by this very persistent tica at the DR. It was a Monday morning, I just wanted to gambel. She was playing slots as well, but pestered me to the point of distraction so for $50, we did the deed in 20 mins at Hotel Asia (yyyyyyyyuck).

Originally I loved the fact I was the only guy in the place with basically my pick of 25-30 girls, but truth be told, I was winning quite a bit at Video poker and wanted to keep doing that enjoying my beer. After being asked and declining invites from at leasta dozen, this drop dead gorgeous slim black lady asked me if I wanted my, well you know, sucked. First I thought, is this a rhetorical question? Of course I do. I just don't want to pay for it right now. Plus not knowing where this event would take place threw me a bit.

Later I did the $50 Noon special so my curiousity was satisfied. sex was so-so, girl had the tradional C section scars and most of her boobs apparently were left in the bra. But ya ya, job was done.

So back to me. I'm a happy friendly guy who's currently studying Spanish but is 100% sure I won't be able to do much more than say hello and haggle in espanol.

I buy beer for those that I hang with so if you see me at the HDR, and you will, come say hello. I'm 6'2" 240lb and shaved head, with basic facial stubble.

I'm a bit concerned about safety, but if I remember correctly, taxis around that area were conducive for hopping around. I'd like to visit PR as well, but I'm taking some of the advice I've read here and not making plans but following the pooosie around.

Looking forward to it!

Klockman,

Welcome to CRT.

You can have your card sent to a stateside mailbox. The chances of booking a room at the SL for those dates are probably slim and none and slim just left the room. Check with La Amistad, Castillo and Clarion Amon. Given your penchant for gambling, Amon might be a great fit. BKTuna runs a daily poker game at Amon.

You may find that the girls to be a bit hesitant to go that far (Marriott) and will ask for taxi $ to get back to the office (DR) with taxi fares of $20 each way I would suggest dumping the Marriott for a location closer to downtown.

Have a great trip, and let us know how it works out.

You should have plenty of time to cancel your room at the Marriot with little if any penalties (Ijust hate to see anybody waste money on a monger trip). Good luck getting a room at Sportsmans, I tried to book one about 1 and a half months ago an no luck. i'll be staying at the Castillo.

Room at the Marriott is already paid for, booked as a package on Expedia.

No biggie, If you're going to pay a stupidity tax, that's as good a place as any. Just ensures that I decline all tica requests for cien, which I would do anyways.

I'll do some research and find a room to romp that's close to ground zero (HDR). Maybe the extra coinage I'm shelling out to the Marriott ensures a half decent night's sleep and a good breakfast.

As for gambling, if they still have the VLT's and slots at HDR, that's where I'll be as I'm fielding requests for short term company. I'll also spend some time at the bar, quaffing beers, not enough to get drunk as I can get drunk at home.

But likes I says, I'm pretty sociable guy, so if you see me, say hello and the next beer will be on me.

Did a little research and Castillo might serve nicely as my backup room. Even with the $5 guest fee. Looks like half decent food up there as well. ya ya, I like ribs....

It's been 4 years, so I can't remember how long the blocks are, but if anyone can offer a guess as to how long it would take a regular guy to walk from the DR to the Castillo, I'd appreciate it. Cuz I'm pretty sure I'm not getting a tica to walk from the SL down to the Morazon with me, and that's plan "B" or is it "C"

ya ya, no walking alone at night, I remember that

Howdy Clockman, and welcome to CRT! :D

My strongest suggestion: Use the Marriott room for sleeping. Book the least expensive room you can get at the Amistad or Castillo...the CRT V.I.P. discount is available at both places, don't forget to bring your card.

I am unsure about the Marriott's chica policy...but even if they're "chica-friendly" the taxi fare is a killer. You'll save multiple taxi fares by booking a second room as I've suggested. HDR? I know that Lee and some others here like it, but I can't see it. $10.00 per elevator ride (chica fee)? Screw that.

Another option aside from booking a second room would be to use the various "love motels," including Motel Eden in barrio San Francisco. Of course, Hotel Asia is a (fairly disgusting) option as well.

Let us know how you make out. BTW, I'll be in town during the same period...look for a blind guy with a white cane and a perma-grin. Introduce yourself! And I insist the first one is on me. (Beer, not chica.... LOL). :D

Thanks for that, Elroy. I also have known guys who have rented both Morazan and Europa (downtown, not the Radisson by the airport) rooms by the hour, usually $20.00 - 25.00.

And, the Hotel la Oficina on av. 9 still might be open. There haven't been any recent reports about the Oficina, so I can't comment on quality or price these days.

Hotel Europa is several blocks and to the right of Morazon and should require a taxi service. It is a very nice hotel without chica fees. They do on occasion take her cedula, and from time to time call your room to ensure there was no problem. Same same for Morazon and you can walk.

For the hourly rates, Hotel Asia seems to be tops and is just around the corner from HDR. There are some cabana's in the area. Ask a taxi to take you, but they are a bit out of town requiring return taxi service.

ID can and no doubt will provide added information.

Just to set the record straight, there is no guest fee at the Castillo. To walk from there to DR is no more than 10 minutes. I usually do it in 5, not that I'm hurrying to get there or anything!

You should avoid walking at night and from recent posts even in the afternoon.

CR has gotten very nasty of late.
