"Fishing" is not a euphemism here. My buddy and I will be in San Jose towards the end of next week. We were wondering if anyone else visiting would like to join us on a day/night trip to Jaco for sport fishing. We are looking to head out of SJ on the morning of 8/1, fish out of Jaco, spend the night, and return to SJ late morning on 8/2. We are good guys who are 35 & 42.

I have never been sport fishing before and wanted to try it once. But the cost is ridiculous split only by two. Also, any recommendations on a charter would be most appreciated.

Thanks!

Nabru, thanks for the info. I and a friend will be in San Jose Aug 1-8 and are thinking about a fishing trip for a day.

Nabru is corect in that being a good deal. it is actually very cheap. i know other charters that cost anywhere from $1100 half day to more than $2800 full day.
It really just depends on what you want to fish for and how comfortable you would like to be, IE cabins with Ac, bathrooms and so on. There are smaller boats right in the herradura bay you can charter with a local guide to fish Rooster, Doraldo, Snapper etc for around that cost or a little less day.
When in the area if anyone is interested in going out one evening let me know i'm usually available.
