Ok I'll jump in here first - The search function can be your best friend. There is even a whole thread on hotels. SJ has a lot of monger friendly hotels to choose from depending on what type of accomodations you are looking for and if you want to pay chica fees or not.
Some of my favorites are the Sportsmens - good for finding a wingman if you need some direction in SJ also they have chicas that hang there if you don't even want to leave the hotel. La Amistad, close by all the action no fees but does have a mixture of non mongers and ecotourist that go there too - still one of my favorites. Obviously the DR - the heart of the beast. I have not stayed there yet as they do have a fee and I like to get the girl out of her environment for a while.
There are numerous other hotels to stay at. Just read the forum and I'm sure you will find the answers to all your questions.
