May 24th...AA flight # 2113 leaving FLL a las tres de la tarde. Lands at 3:50 p.m. in SJO. Me and my wingman will be on it. Anyone else?

Glad nobody else was on this flight Saturday....we were in a "holding pattern" for awhile due to poor visibility. Pilot said we may have to go to Manauga or PTY to refuel. Then he announced we were landing in SJO. Came out of the clouds, saw a field out my window, got a little ancyu due to weather conditions, then airplane went up at a nice angle and a few minutes later pilot said we couldn't land and were going for more fuel in PTY. Where was our aviation master 1QUickPilot when we needed him? (Probably flying 777's to BA). So we land in PTY. Taxi to a remote part of airport. Were advised the people who were going to refuel our plane were coming in from their houses. Couldn't AA have notified them earlier? Sit there for a couple hours. Then we taxi to gate 31. Sit there. Then they advise we are staying the night in PTY. Get off plane. Sit at gate. Told SJO closed (but TBC got there on a flight fromj PTY that very afternoon on Copa...may 1Quick was in the cockpit?). Stand in line at counter at gate. Nothing to eat at the airport at this hour. Problem with immigration cause some people on flight are form Equador and Panama apparently has a more restrictive policy towards them. Finally get thru customs. No stamping of passport. Board a bus. Then change buses. Charter bus takes us to first, second, then third hotel, where me and Hal (wingman for trip) stayed. Rooms, dinner, and breakfast all on AA.
Missed going to Idem, CRT bbq, poker tournament. But sure as hell beats perishing in a plane crash. And even though I did not check into the hotel in PTY till after midnight, and Hal was not feeling well, I made it to Golden Time. And Ticafan was not kidding about the talent there.
I am sure I will post a trip report when I come back to reality. Really missed not getting to hotel M but enjoyed meeting Bang Bang and it is always a pleasure to hang with Pac 55.

Hey Mia2PTY ... I would have missed shootin the shit with Bang and Pac too, but how about the Panama MP's? Any time for then?

This has to be one of the more interesante trip reports, so let us know... Drinks on me in back home, this has got to be a good one......
