Will be arriving on 19 March thru 26 March 2008. Staying at the Hotel Del Rey ususally at the Presidente but decided to be very close to the action. I will totally on R&R plan to hit up a few MPs in the day time as well. Anyone in town during that time let's have a few beers. |

I am not sure if you realize that you scheduled your trip during Holy week. I have read that everything basically shuts down from the 19th to the 23rd and the bars even stop serving alcohol during those days. I am sure you are all pumped up on your trip, but if you were unaware of Santa Semana week, you might want to think about re-arranging your trip a little. |

I scheduled my trip 2nd for this same period after my 1st visit Nov 07. After doing a search for Santa Semana I immediately canceled my trip. I really suggest you do the same search and come to your own conclusion. My conclusion was that this is the worst time of the year. On a brighter note, I can't wait to get back there in June (Hee.... Hee). |

Anyone have any ideas of where to go for a few days where they aren't so religious? All the chicas are either at home with their families,or at the beach.
Holy Thursday and Good Friday are official holidays in CR. No alcohol sales, many restaurants are closed, even the buses don't run. It's always funny seeing mongers schedule CR trips during Easter. Here, it's no big deal, more about a silly bunny and coloring eggs. In Latin America, they take it more seriously. ![]() |
