Due to years of subconscious religious inculcation, I had inadvertently planned my trip from March 13-23, relegating me to the more saintly pursuits during my last four days in Costa Rica. Due to the miracle of the internet and fluctuating prices, I was able to change my trip dates without financial penalty.

My new dates are March 9-19. Although I won't see the glorious Easter lilies in the cathedral, I'm guessing I'll see a lot more action and boozing.

Well, in that case, pax vobiscum. :D Not "pox yo biscuit."

I have to call God's phone number and report you now:

Et C*m Spiri 220.

One of the reasons I originally timed this trip for late March was because my favorita, Julie, whom many of you know, was pregnant and should have given birth mid february, or so. When I last saw her in January, her pansa was so huge, I thought she was going to drop a Ch*ld any time. Anyway, I was very much looking forward to 'being' with her this trip, if you know what I mean.

Well, she just had a healthy baby (today), which I'm of course very happy about. However, even though I will spend some time with her, our relations will be limited. Looks like I will be spending some quality time in ZB, NF, HDR, SL, et al. :P

Ciao,

Have a great trip... little did I know when I recommended Julie to you that you'd go off and have a family together :).

BTW, you'd love MDE!

Noah,

I blame it all on you!!! And although I would love to do (and will do) Medallin, Rio is first on the list.

Wheels up in a couple o' days. I have Jose picking me up and taking me to Julie's place in Alajuela so I can see the baby and make sure he doesn't look like me. I will also secure the a dirty diaper for future DNA analysis, just in case I ever get hauled into CR paternity court. Just kidding. Although much has been written in this forum about just how low Ticas can go (Looking evil in the eye, etc), IMO, Julie is one of the least likely to pull that kind of stunt. But you can never say never.

Next, I'll have Jose take me to the Automercado to pick up supplies needed for ten days at SL. Then off to my home away from home, SL.

Hope to see a few of you all there. Regardless, I've yet failed to make a few new friends, and this time won't be any different. And PR, I've got the mixers on ice.

Ciaociao

Lucky bastard! I envy, I envy. Except for the gay foo-foo drinks...what are they called..."gay Russians?" (an attempt to jab a bit at PR, intended to be in good fun).

EC,

I have reservations for Aug 27-Sept 6. I'm sure a lot of us will be in town for the anniversary party. Look forward to seeing you then and the first 'gay russian' will be on me. (That didn't come out exactly right, but you get the point.)
