Well, I checked with the boss at work today & got the okay for a mid-winter escape to a warmer climate. Costa Rica here I come! ![]() I pulled the trigger on a US Airways flight thru Phoenix. US Air hasn't been my favorite airline in the past but they had the best fare from here. If it works out, they could become a favorita. ![]() I will be looking for a vet or two to show me around some. It looks like there will be at least a smattering of the CRT bunch in town then. Unfortunately my trip will be after the Superbowl & Pro Bowl. But then, I might be better off avoiding the big show for my first trip. It does look like I will miss meeting my hero from the forum, Pacifica55. ![]() I haven't made hotel reservations yet but I am considering the Hotel Castillo. I've read good reports about them & feel that they will fit my needs & budget. I'm planning on attending the CRLA for spanish classes for a week, 2/18 to 2/22. 4 hours of class each day will still leave plenty of time for me to practice on the chicas! ![]() I can't wait! |

Okay, I'm not losing my mind (yet)! I took the "Feb 4" date to mean your departure from CR. |

It's all set. I've received confirmation emails from the Hotel Castillo & the CRLA language school. I'll be at the Castillo from Fri 2/15 (late) & departing on Tue 2/26 (AM). I'll be in school for 5 days, Mon 2/18 to Fri 2/22 for 4 hours each day. My plane is scheduled to arrive SC at about 9 pm. If I feel up to it after the journey (10.5 hr) I might venture to the SL to check out the scene there. I'll probably be so stoked that I'll stay up all night & regret it the next day! |

Cool, Western. What did they charge for school? |

It will be about $250 for the week @ 4hr/day X 5 days. Works out to $12.50/hour which is what their website lists as the price for group lessons. Private lessons are $18.00/hr. They also include optional dancing classes, cooking classes & conversational classes for free in the afternoons. These are all strictly conducted in Spanish to help language skills. Here is their link: http://www.spanishandmore.com/ In searching thru the forum, several CRT members have attended this school & have given good reviews. It should be worthwhile. Besides, it will keep me out of the bars! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Pac I did the private CRLA lessons @ $18 per hour a little over a year ago. Would highly recommend their services. Having minimal spanish knowledge prior, private one on one lessons helped me tremendously. 5 days at 2 hours per day amd I was feeling comfortable...Now if I could just find the time to practice more I would be golden... ![]() ![]() |

It looks like I won't be the only newbie in town that week. That's three of us at least that I know of so far. You vets are going to be worn out with all us Ch*ldren running around turning over end tables and sticking our fingers in light sockets. Get ready for babysitting! ![]() |

I will be in town and a 7 time veteren. Those 4 hour classes pay off big time. You just won't learn phrases like, Porque no me regala su sonrisa vertical. (Why haven't you given me any pu*sy) No gracias, prefiero jugar solo. esentially i'd rather jerk off I'm also attending a language program (2nd time for 5 weeks) in San Jose. But at a different school. Best sugestion is try to practice spanish with a bartender. |
