Usually my trips are planed 3 to 6 months in advance but the scheduling change left me with less then 45 days to put it together.
hotels
As some of you know you need to reserve the prez well in advance to get a whole week much less a holiday week. So this will be the first time in 5 trips that the Prez is not my homebase. Luckily the hotel Freebird had rooms available. this is where the board shows its real value with knowledge of options and discounts. Because of the last minute plans two room switches was needed so I figured why not get some Jaco time. Tried my usual places Conciones and Cocal, but they both had high season prices. Heard of claritas as a nice place to hang so thought I'd give it a try; 70 a night for ac room(will report on it afterwards)
flight
I had been checking prices for a march or april trip that were coming in around 280, I was surprised to get the same for january. Unfortunetly philly is 300 dollars more than newark for me thats 4 or 5 sessions. add 50 to get to and from ewr from philly

the only thing left is get a ticket for the tico bus to jaco oh yeah and knock off some imperials and cuties not in that order
