Hi , I need some opinins about this trip . heres the itinerary:

Day 1 -land at sjo take cab to delrey for 2 nights (king deluxe room $80 per night each

Day 3 -take cab $100 or bus $29 to los suenos /jaco (marriot) $275 per night )for 2 nights split (wingman booked without telling me ) not too thrilled

Day 5-take bus for 3 to 5 hrs $29 to avenal /la fortuna stay at the TABACON SPA resort for 2 nights $220 per night split . day trips ,canopy, mineral springs, rafting ext..

Day 7 final day take bus back to san jose stay in hotel unknown for last night then fly out in morning .

what do you think ?? saving money isnt our prime objective were looking to have a good time and not stay in the gulch too long .My only concern is staying 2 days in the JACO beach area with nothing to do maybe a fishing trip would be nice but not for $1000

Cancel all that touristy bullshit and stay in the gulch all week, hit all the MP's & strip clubs, make new CRT friends & go to dinner with them, compare Colombianas, Ticas, Nicas, Dominicanas and Panamanians. That's my idea of a fun week.

Wow - Los Suenos & Tabacon - you're certainly not scrimping on the accomodations.

Personally, I would say you're moving around too much for that length a trip. The driving back and forth gets old fast. I would either do Arenal or Jaco, but not both. And I wouldn't stay at Los Suenos in Jaco in either case - you can probably have a better time staying at one of the many beach hotels closer into town.

If staying somewhere as nice as Tabacon, I would definitely want to have company. With some game and a little luck, you might get lucky in La Fortuna, but it's a crap shoot. If you could spend more time in San Jose on the front end, you might have some luck finding a girl to take out there with you.

Hello JerseyGringo,
I will be staying at the Del Rey from July 3 til July 9. Hope to meet you guys there. This will be my third trip in eleven months but I still feel like a newbie to most of these guys on the board. If I can help in anyway just send me a message. You will have a great time. I will be staying in the gluch most of the time, but I have already done Jaco and a bunch of side trips. There will be three in out party my son who is 27 and my wingman q-tip...... Mwellstime

Ok so I was trying to make a point in my usual smart aleck way  but GR said it. Do you guys want to be gringo tourists or spend time with beautiful women? Personally I'd cancel Tabacon unless I had a special chica to take and just take day tours from SJO, you can still see the volcanos, go rafting, etc. yet be based near the action and look forward to returning each day or night for some real fun. And I guess you know Los suenos Marriott is NOT chica friendly? :? And Jaco, like you said unless you're fishing not a whole lot of excitement during the day.

Hey thanks for the input .My wingman booked the marriot and said he would pay for it furthermore im not so excited about 2 days of looking at sand waiting for nights at the BB .the ride from there to arenal is gonna suck too.

I would love to find a tica to bring to arenal for 2 days does this sound possible from the Jaco area?

As far as the arenal trip I DEFINATLY need to see some cultural things and eco-shit We booked a driver for a week he is going to drive us everywhere so atleast we can stop places. The gulch sounds fun but neither of us spend much drinking time, so really the casino and the ticas is the draw there so of course we took your advice to stay in the DR to experience the nucleus of it all . we left the 7th night open we dont know where we are gonna be . thanks JG

.I think at least this time I have to experience the flavor of CR . I know this is a mongering site but I hear alot of memebers chat about what a beatufull country it is and how the people are so nice .I figure they didnt get that opinion by sitting in the BM hunting spinners though that sounds appealing but as a newbie I guess I have to learn the hard way .

Ill be in town on the 5th and try to meet the guys at the SL

.One mor stupid question....malaria [pills??whats that all about anymore ever heard of malaria being present in CR .

Unless you plan on exploring the deepest of jungles you can skip the malaria pills.

It is a beautiful country so get out and see it. It all depends on how long you are planning to stay. Anything longer than a quick weekend trip should give you time to at least do some day trips.
I am doing my longest trip so far next month -18 days! I plan to stricktly play in san jose for the first six or seven days then travel around for five or six days and then back to san jose for a week of inspired debauchery.
