Enroute as we speak, but delayed again in DFW. Anybody else going to be in-town this weekend versus the weekend after July 4? Let me know and maybe we can get-together for a drink. |

Well....I finally made it into SJO @1230 hrs. After a 1 hr delay, we boarded the aircraft. Then we sat for about another hour while they waited on other connecting AA flights that were late. Then just before take-off, the flight was aborted abruptely, 3/4 of the way down the runway. Fire trucks arrived to where the plane was sitting on the taxiway. Piloted alerted us a significant alarm could not be rectified and we would have to go back to the gate and have maintenance look things over. After another hour delay, and we were finally on our way. Electrical back-up system failed and automatically applied the brakes and aborted take-off. Pretty frightening experience, but all turned out well. Thought I was going to experience another AA snafu for my SJO trip much like my Memorial Day experience. Ended-up cancelling that trip and sought a refund as I would have spent 2 days trying to get to SJO on standby, leaving a day to enjoy! I HATE American Airlines. They are always late and the customer service is getting worse with every flight. I will be Very Happy when I can fly direct to SJO from Denver, on Frontier, beginning in Dec. No more endless hrs waiting in DFW for a connecting flight that has a less than 50% chance of actually happening! Found a nice HDR Lady to help with some much needed stress relief so all is good. |
