From what I understand, the U.S. EMBASSY puts on a nice program for the Americans in CR. I had the chance to attend in the past, and was sorry I didn't. I'm going to try and make it there this year.

Also, the New York Bar usually offers a free hot dog or two. Last year, they were really good.

The picnic is actually not an Embassy function but rather run by a group of volunteers named the American Colony. The picnic was started 47 years ago and was at the residence of the Ambassador. The function grew to a point that a larger venue had to be found and it was moved to the picnic grounds of the Costa Rican brewery.

Sad to say the picnic, for this year, has been CANCELED for untold reasons. :cry: :cry: It is suppose to return in 2008. :D :D

Gonna be in the land of plenty June 29 til July9 with a short trip to Barranquilla,Colombia....2 questions....first...any CRT events happening over the 4th?Second...I have looked at alot of threads and couldn't find much on Barranquilla...any advice on where to stay?

That's on the 5th not the 4th El Silencioso, looks like the big events on the 4th are NYB hot dogs and the return of Xman! Maybe the chicas will have a parade :lol:
