Just came back from Jaco. Stayed at Ibiza, Nice hotel, excellent customer service. My room was small but had a large cabinet for a closet in which the safe was located. It honestly did not give me the most secure feeling. My room had a flimsy window right next to the door with small paynes of glass. Anyone who wanted to break in could have easily. Therefore I kept my valuables on me at all times, passport cash etc. I used the safe for my phone and Bose headphones.
Calle Bohio is kind of a mixed bag. Big nice sports bar on the corner, as well as sushi place. As you get closer to the beach there are some cheap rental looking places. Had a guy approach me soliciting drugs and girls, he knew I was staying at Ibiza. Gave me the creeps and totally validated my choices when it came to the room “safe”.

The Jaco police station is located on Calle Bohio on the beach. Although I'm not surprised about the mixed experience. It is a quiet road, I've never seen any police presence in Jaco

There is a hotel cant remember name (been there twice with cocktail waitress from crocs when I was staying there) and they also sell condoms imho very safe.I believe its $25/hour
