No, I 'look out for the owner's interests' the best tarpon fishing lodge in the world (in the jungle).
I constantly research Costa Rica (in person) so I can provide advice to guests - who come to Costa Rica for many reasons besides fishing.
So when I'm in SJ I look at hotels, restaurants, how people do business, where to get x, y and z and so on. I don't recommend places (hotels, restaurants, etc.) to my guests that I haven't been to / stayed at, etc. I talk to people in my industry to find out how they do thinks and, often, share how we do it.
