I have many months in country. I have taken buses in and out of the Coca-Cola bus station many times. I strongly recommend that you NEVER take a taxi from that bus station. Many of the drivers have deals with certain hotels and will never admit to knowing where any other hotel is. If you walk one block, north, south, east or west, and flag down any taxi they will probably take you straight to the HLH.
I was in Puriscal once, by accident, took the wrong bus. Very pretty country. Please share more info about Puriscal, why you settled there, what you like/dislike about the area, etc.
Hey, Defender, sorry it took so long to respond, but I've been, well, distracted....LOL We found Puriscal quite by accident after being lead astray on a house we had in Avellanas. We found a nice house on the mountain-side for a good price.
I have SINCE learned that I may have done as well or better in Grecia or San Ramon, but I am happy where I am.....I just hate the drive to anywhere. The people here are warm and friendly, and although Puriscal isn't exactly a "Beautiful" place in terms of the aesthetics of town, the outlying areas are stunning.
I've all but been propositioned on the bus into Puriscal from where I live (actually in La Palma), and can't wait to get to San Jose with enough time and Colones to begin my career.....LOL
I wrote to Don Gordo about a "Fishing" expedition, but have never heard back from him, and I am looking forward to meeting up with Boyd for a good look around.
Thanks for the heads-up about Coca-Cola.....I will probably DRIVE in when I can get time and hopefully my only concern then will be FINDING where I want to go! (Probably hard to do if the blood isn't exactly in my head) (The BIG one, I mean)...LOL
